Healing Ministry Opportunities: Rusty Rustenbach with The Navigators is in town and will ministering to us through March 1st.  Founded in 1933, The Navigators is an interdenominational, nonprofit organization, dedicated to helping people navigate spiritually, to know Christ, and to make Him known as they look to Him and His Word to chart their lives.  Rusty’s healing prayer schedule (giving God the opportunity to heal past wounds) is almost full, so if you’re interested in meeting with him, don’t hesitate to contact Jeff at 562-3238.   

 

 

Men’s Group Cancellation:  The Men’s Group meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 27th has been cancelled.  In lieu of the regular meeting, men are encouraged to attend the March 1st Men’s Breakfast (see below for details). 

 

 

Men’s Breakfast:   Are you a man?  Do you in need food both physical and spiritual?  Then be sure to attend the upcoming Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, March 1st at 9am in the Fellowship Hall. The speaker will be Rusty Rustenbach from the Navigators.

 

Love INC in Anchorage News:  Thank you for your ongoing prayer and support for Love INC in Anchorage. Love INC will begin receiving calls on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am – 12:00pm, beginning March 11th.  In preparation, all volunteers are encouraged to attend a Volunteer Orientation on March 3rd from 6-7:30pm, hosted at Alliance Bible Church, 941 E. Dowling Rd.  All Intake Volunteers are asked to attend an Intake Volunteer Training on March 6th from 10-11:30am at the Love INC office.  If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact your Church Ministry Coordinator or the Executive Director of Love INC in Anchorage, Elaine Phillipps by phone at 274-5673 or by email at Elaine@loveincanchorage.org.

Angel Tree Ministry Planning:  It is already time to form a planning team for this year’s Angel Tree ministry.  Angel Tree is a national ministry that reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ.  Please join the planning team following service on Sunday, March 2nd in the Fellowship Hall. 


More Announcements…

 

Children’s Ministry Opportunity:  Sunday School hall monitors serve as assistants for the teachers in our Sunday School program. They will often act as a second pair of hands in the classroom, or work one-on-one with a child who is experiencing difficulties in the classroom. They are also trained in emergency evacuation procedures.  Please prayerfully consider how the Lord might use you in this ministry.  Your commitment would be one hour, once a month. 

 

 

Children’s Church:  There continues to be a need for regular Children’s Church teachers.  Please consider consistently serving one Sunday per month.  Second and fourth Sundays are available.  Contact the church office to sign up.

 

 

Praise Dance Fundraiser:  The Praise Dance team is hosting a fundraiser to provide backpacks filled with Bibles and healthy snack food for the Gospel Mission.  The fundraiser will be at the church on Friday, April 11th.  There will be a family movie, a silent auction bake sale.  The bake sale silent auction will begin at 6pm; the movie starts at 6:30pm.  Admission is by donation. 

 

 

Kidz Klass:  An exciting opportunity to teach financial stewardship to elementary-age children (K-6) is being offered on April 13th, 20th, 27th and May 4th.  Each session is 90 minutes long, and will begin immediately following the worship service.   Lunch will be served.  “In God We Trust” is a Crown Ministries Study. 

 

 

Ladies Retreat:  Are you a woman?  Do you need fellowship, both physical and spiritual?  Then don’t miss the April 25th – 27th ladies’ retreat at Solid Rock Bible Camp.  Tuition is $85 and includes lodging, meals, and activities.  Partial and full scholarships are available.  Carpooling is also an option.

Praise Dance:  Praise dance practice occurs Sundays at 5pm.  Through song and dance, school-age children learn creative worship.  The praise dance team is recruiting older children (through junior high school-age) interested in performing skits. 

 

 

Attention Readers and Booklovers!:  If you like to read, consider joining a book discussion group.  The current selection is “Patrick” by Stephen R. Lawhead, a fictionalized retelling of the life of St. Patrick.  The next meeting will be Tuesday, March 18th, at 5:30pm.  Potluck dinner.  Please contact Linda at lindajo528@hotmail.com for more information, or to get the current reading list.
