FALL SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Experiencing Christ Together: Experiencing Christ Together helps you explore the five biblical purposes of a high-impact Christian life-fellowship, discipleship, ministry, evangelism, and worship.  Jesus perfectly lived out God’s purposes for his life, and he taught his followers how to do the same.  As you walk in the footsteps of those first disciples by listening to and watching Jesus through these studies, you and your group will be transformed.

Old Testament Challenge (part 2 – Stepping out in Faith): God invites us to follow him on a life-changing journey of faith.  Our hearts long to enter this adventure and discover that God is alive and more active than we ever dreamed.  But where can we find examples of how to live with bold, courageous faith?  Guiding you through the history of Israel, this small group study reveals God’s powerful presence and his unyielding commitment to show his children how to follow him in the good times as well as the difficult times.

The Old Testament Challenge small group series is a high-impact tool for discovering the power and relevance of the Old Testament. This innovative series combines Bible study with an enjoyable, interactive format to help you and your group experience God’s Word as it really is: energetic, immediate, and life-transforming.

Men’s Small Group:  The men of ABC will be gathering on the 2nd and 4th week of each month, beginning Tuesday night, September 11th @ 7-8:30pm and Wednesday mornings from 6-7:30am, beginning September 12th.  Both groups will meet at the church and will be reading through The Quest for Authentic Manhood by Pastor Robert Lewis.

Truth Seekers:  Join us today @ 1pm @ the Phillipps house (7101 Hillside Way) for a barbeque and a time to get acquainted and learn about this year’s study, The Truth Project.  Weekly meetings will be Sunday’s @ 5:00pm.

Women’s Care Group:  We are excited to begin Women’s Care Group again this fall.  We will meet Monday’s, beginning September 17th @ 6:30pm at the church in the prayer room on the 3rd floor.  We will be studying either women of the bible or “Bad Girls of the Bible” by Liz Curtis Higgs.  (childcare may be provided)

Wiesinger Care Group:  Pastor Jeff will be leading a study on Philippians, Thursday evenings, beginning at 7pm.  See Pastor Jeff for more information.

Higbee Care Group:  Mike Higbee will be leading a young adults group on Thursday evenings every other week, beginning date TBA.

Intimate Encounters:  Jonathan and Linda will be conducting an Intimate Encounters class again this fall.  This study is designed to help strengthen couples relational intimacy and gives couples a format to better understand each other and the things that come between you and your spouse, and how to work through them. This group will meet for 13 weeks beginning either the end of September or the beginning of October.

Announcements …

Children’s Church: We are in need of Three teachers for elementary children’s church.  Our preference is that individuals/couples would commit to serving 1 Sunday a month on an on-going basis; however, until that time we are asking for individuals to commit one Sunday morning for this fall to teach the children - instruction and easy to follow curriculum is provided.  Please see Marilyn Bryan before or after service if you would like to sign up or contact the church office via email @ abchurch@alaska.net or by phone @ 562-3238.

PATHway Family Center: PATHway is a local Christian agency who offers love, encouragement, prayer, and meets the physical needs of parents and their children.  Alliance Bible Church has had the opportunity to partner with PATHway several times, particularly when pregnant and/or women with newborns have sought assistance.  They are always in need of size 3 & 5 diapers.  For more information, please contact the center at 770-5007.
