Ladies Retreat: Ladies, do you need fellowship, both physical and spiritual? Then don’t miss the April 25^th – 27^th ladies’ retreat at Solid Rock Bible Camp. Tuition is $85 and includes lodging, meals, and activities. Partial and full scholarships are available. Carpooling is also an option.

Conference for Men: Alaska Men’s Ministries is sponsoring the Every Man Conference on April 11^th and 12^th at ChangePoint. The speaker is Kenny Luck, author of Every Man, God’s Man, Men’s Minister at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Learn how to strongly connect with God and with godly men to produce the character of Jesus Christ. The Friday session is 7pm-9pm; the Saturday session is 8am-1pm. The cost is $50 (or $45 if your register by March 25^th). Online sign-up is at www.akmensministries.com, or contact the ABC office.

Easter Celebrations: Easter is upon us! Come participate in the Good Friday Service on March 21^st at 7pm. Childcare for preschool-age and under will be provided. Easter Sunday is March 23^rd, and ABC will begin celebrating with a 9am brunch. There will be no Sunday school that day. Easter Service begins at 10:15am.

All-Church Cleanup: In preparation for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection, there will be an all-church cleanup on Saturday, March 22^nd beginning at 8am. Please come and help prepare the building and grounds for Easter.

Praise Dance Fundraiser: The Praise Dance team is hosting a fundraiser to provide backpacks filled with Bibles and healthy snack food for the Gospel Mission. The fundraiser will be at the church on Friday, April 11^th. There will be a family movie, and a silent auction bake sale. The bake sale silent auction will begin at 6pm; the movie starts at 6:30pm. Admission is by donation.

Job Opening: Please be aware that the church continues to seek qualified applicants for the part time administrative position in the church office. Please contact Jeff at 562-3238.

More Announcements …

Kidz Klass: A financial stewardship class for kids (K-6), “In God We Trust,” is being offered on April 13^th, 20^th, 27^th and May 4^th. Each session is 90 minutes long, and will begin immediately following the worship service. Lunch will be served. Contact Kathleen Squires for more information (562-3554).

Board of Operations Meeting: The next meeting of the Board will be Wednesday, March 12^th at 7pm.

Children’s Church: There continues to be a need for regular Children’s Church teachers. Please consider consistently serving one Sunday per month. Second and fourth Sundays are available. Contact the church office to sign up.

Attention Readers and Booklovers!: The current book club selection is “Patrick” by Stephen Lawhead. The next meeting will be Tuesday, March 18^th, at 5:30pm. Contact: Linda Sexauer at 222-0697 or lindajo528@hotmail.com.

Dear Congregation,

The new board for the year 2008 met for the first time on February 13^th. Your Board of Operations includes; Pastor Jeff Wiesinger, Joe Kerley, Claudia Cope, Mary Young, Anne Kutchera, and Gary Sossamon. We were able to join in prayer together on the current state of our church and seek God’s guidance for the future, as well as look practically at the present issues that need to be addressed. These issues include the following:

· After our latest break in and loss of property, the board is researching the cost and options of providing some form of security system for our church building.

· Our newest Treasurer, Anne Kutchera, will be gathering information for the board to review on different banking options that would allow us to gain a better rate of return as we desire to be good stewards with the financial provision we have been given.

· Our church continues to have two ongoing needs as we seek to fill the positions of church secretary and the youth pastor/CE director. Please join the board in prayer over these positions in our church.

I look forward to the opportunity to communicate to the body on behalf of the board. Equally I desire to be a voice for the church with questions or concerns that need to be addressed with the board. Please feel free to seek me out at church or call me if there is a need in this area.
